The Restaurant at Zero George is seeking a talented and passionate individual to join our team as a Floor Sommelier. Our tasting menu showcases contemporary American cuisine with global influence, crafted by Executive Chef Vinson Petrillo. The restaurant offers an intimate fine dining experience, where attention to detail, thoughtful service, and exceptional wine pairings are paramount.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with all front-of-house (FOH) staff to deliver an exceptional dining experience.
- Guide guests through the wine list and assist in selecting pairings that enhance their meal.
- Oversee wine service, including decanting and proper presentation, ensuring all wines are served in optimal condition.
- Ensure proper glassware and wine storage practices are followed.
- Participate in monthly inventory and assist with receiving and stocking wine product (must be able to lift 40-pound boxes).
- Maintain a polished, professional appearance and embody the hospitality standards of Zero George.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in a hospitality setting, with fine dining experience preferred.
- Strong foundation in wine, particularly French and Italian varietals.
- A passion for guest service and a genuine love of hospitality.
- High attention to detail and a proactive, team-oriented approach.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Must be available to work weekends.
