Andrews House, Director of Community Engagement
Andrews House (AH) is a non-profit, multi-faceted community services center. The purpose and
mission of AH is to support and provide services for individuals and families and to collaborate with
other helping organizations to respond to existing and emerging needs in the Delaware, Ohio area.
The Director of Community Engagement is responsible for volunteer management and works to
implement strategic plans for marketing, develop funding sources, manage donor relations, and
partnerships, while providing necessary administrative support to the Executive Director with the
overall goal of carrying out our mission and operation. This position reports directly to the Executive
Director.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Responsible for Volunteer Management consisting of recruiting, scheduling, communicating,
and tracking volunteers in a volunteer management system for Andrews House (AH) programs
and activities
- Works with Executive Director to develop and implement a strategic plan for increasing
revenue streams including donations, grants, and fundraising
- Responsible for the development and implementation of an annual marketing plan and
calendar of activities to support AH’s revenue goals
- Responsible for engagement with the community in the form of meetings and presentations to
various constituencies such as churches, corporations, foundations, estate planners, and
individuals to develop partnerships and identify opportunities for grants, sponsorships, and
gifts
- Research grant opportunities and assist with the grant application process to increase funding
year over year
- With AH Team (employees, Board and volunteers) help organize, coordinate, execute and
attend events to support our fundraising and market plans
- Prepare applicable monthly reports
- Create, organize and maintain donor data base
- Attend Board Fundraising and Outreach committee meetings
- Responsible for preparing and sending Tax Letter to Donors, Year End mailings, periodic
email and/or print newsletter
- Responsible for donor development including, but not limited to phone calls, thank you letters,
emails, and meetings
- Work with AH Team to manage website, social media, and media relations
- Filling in answering phone calls and responding to the public in AH Office when necessary
- Being present at Andrews House would be expected 40 hours per week unless performing AH
duties in the community with an expected 7 day flexible schedule
- Other duties as assigned
Background Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience and demonstrated exposure in non-profit
community relations, marketing, fundraising, volunteer management, or other relevant experience
Skill Requirements:
- Self-motivated, self-directed with strong time management skills
- Excellent writing, communications, public speaking and media relations skills
- Computer skills (Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel, Canva, email management system,
Get Connected, and be familiar with web platform software)
- Attention to detail
- Elevated level of integrity
- Ability to build effective and collaborative relations with a wide set of constituencies
- Experienced in leadership-level volunteer management and coordination
- Grant writing experience
- Social media analytics and marketing skill sets
Ideal candidate will exhibit excellent communication skills with both inside and outside constituencies
while projecting empathy and compassion toward others. Candidate must be a self-starter capable of
taking initiative and able to work with minimal supervision. The ability to work in a multi-tasking,
flexible and nurturing environment is a must. Candidate must be able to be bonded.
Position Responsibilities:
Planning: Responsible for developing a plan and calendar for Community Engagement which should
include events, fundraising and marketing, and reporting the results of the plan; communicating and
coordinating with AH team, volunteers, and Board to gain support needed to execute the plan.
Decision Authority: Responsible for daily decision-making related to Andrews House within the job
responsibilities. Present innovative marketing ideas, fundraising opportunities and other opportunities
to the Executive Director.
Budgetary Responsibilities: Responsible for staying within the organizational budget for marketing
and following generally accepted accounting processes.
Other Characteristics:
Team Player: The Director of Community Engagement is part of a small highly flexible, dynamic
team that works together to achieve AH’s mission and goals.
Supervisory Responsibilities: The Director of Community Engagement oversees, manages, and
helps supervise volunteers.

- Evenings as needed
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
