Must be available to work evening shift 3p-11p. The Sterile Processing Technician utilizes surgical instrumentation knowledge to provide the correct instruments for the operating room and other procedural areas. This position works to disassemble, clean, sterilize, and store procedure trays, instruments, and supplies. This position collaborates with the operating room staff to ensure the availability and sterility of instrumentation to meet the requirements of posted surgical cases.

10. Duties
Under the direction of the Sterile Processing Supervisor, properly sterilizes and prepares surgical instruments for all cases at the scheduled surgery timesOperates sterilizers and ability to complete daily check which includes recording temperature, pressure and recording time of test loadsUpdates surgical instrument tray listsInitiates repairs on surgical instruments, as neededPractices Infection Control and Universal Precautions, as per policyRestocks workstations at end of every workdayCarries out routine and assisted tasks of inspecting case carts, instruments, and supplies; and storing the items in the appropriate place in SPDPerforms all responsibilities / duties required by the sterile processing department as defined in the scope of service to ensure that the unique nature of the client is addressedMaintains current knowledge / certifications / licensureChecks and respond to emails in a timely and efficient mannerPerforms other duties as assignedRequired
High school diploma or GED certificate recipientBLS for healthcare providers – American Heart AssociationMust have sufficient reading ability to read safety instructions and chemical product labels.Must be able to follow written and oral instructionsPreferred
