Responsibilities may include but are not necessarily limited to the following:
- Working on industrial capital projects, develop and maintain detailed 2D and 3D structural design drawings, plant layouts, models, and material lists.
- Assist the sales team with proposal drawings, material take-offs, and related deliverables.
- Ensure the completeness of project-related information, requesting additional details when necessary.
- Work closely with Sales, Project Engineering, and Project Management to ensure designs meet project contract requirements.
- Participate in internal and external project meetings, providing technical input and updates.
- Review drawings prepared by peers and vendors for accuracy, compliance, and adherence to best design practices.
- Ensure all designs align with industry codes, company standards, and project-specific requirements.
- Review and modify designs from other regions to comply with U.S. engineering regulations.
- Participate in site visits to gather field measurements and resolve design-related issues.
- Contribute to resolving project challenges through practical design solutions..
- Leverage and adapt design standards and practices from other regions to enhance project outcomes.
- Diploma or Associate Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 10 years’ of experience in structural design, particularly in industrial projects.
- Experience with structural steel, access, and platework layout, design, and detailing; required.
- Excellent command of Computer-Aided Design software in 2D and 3D (e.g., AutoCAD, E3D, Inventor, Plant 3D).
- Ability to calculate lengths, distances, angles, areas, and volumes.
- General math skills and knowledge of welding and fabrication processes.
- Strong, practical knowledge of structural design principles, codes, and industry standards (OSHA, ANSI, D1.1, etc.).
- Familiarity with U.S. engineering regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight.
- Must be able to provide direct, mentor, and guide junior staff.
- Ability and willingness to travel to domestic and international sites (typically 5-20%) and wear the required PPE.
- Willingness to work in culturally and geographically diverse teams.
- Legally authorized to work in the USA.
- Industrial process piping experience.
- Air Pollution Control equipment design experience.
- Knowledge of DIN / ISO / EN.
- Certification in CAD or structural design.
