Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Take and develop dental X-rays as needed, adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Monitor vital signs and assist in managing patient anxiety or discomfort during procedures.
- Implement infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Support various dental specialties including pediatrics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry as required.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Familiarity with dental systems and medical documentation processes is advantageous.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and HIPAA compliance is essential.
- Experience with pediatric patients is a plus, showcasing adaptability in handling diverse patient needs.
