Job Summary:
The Intake Nurse Specialist will serve as one of the first points of contact for potential clients, and will conduct initial assessments of personal injury cases; assessing the client’s injuries, and their needs for treatment. This role requires a unique blend of medical knowledge and interpersonal skills to effectively evaluate cases and provide compassionate service to injured individuals.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to incoming calls, emails, and text from potential clients.
- Conduct initial interviews to gather detailed information about the client’s injury, medical treatment, pre-existing injuries, need for further treatment, and other relevant details.
- Evaluate the potential of each case based on your medical knowledge, the extent of the client’s injuries, and the firm's criteria.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for client meetings by providing details of client’s injuries and treatment.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all client interactions, as well as injury and treatment information.
- Provide empathetic and supportive communication to clients during the intake process.
- Collaborate with the legal teams to ensure seamless case progression.
- Ensure clients are set up with future medical treatment that is needed for improving their injuries to the maximum potential.
Qualifications:
- **Proven experience in a medical setting**, preferably in an orthopedic clinic or hospital.
- **Background in nursing, case management, or a related healthcare field**.
- **Strong understanding of medical terminology**, especially related to injuries and orthopedic treatments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Interest in the legal field and willingness to learn about personal injury law.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software quickly.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with medical records and insurance claims.
- Prior experience in a legal setting or working with attorneys.
- Certification or licensure in a healthcare field (e.g., RN, LPN, CMA).
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field preferred. (ADN, BSN)
