Job Summary:
We are looking for someone with solid technical abilities, excellent laboratory skills, and interest in making an impact in a fast-paced start-up focused on optoelectronic technologies and sensors for the autonomous navigation marketplace.
As a key member of our team, you will engage broadly across the technical organization, including both software and hardware engineering, to work on characterization and analytical analysis of our photonics devices. You will be working alongside some very prominent silicon valley pioneers in the field of Silicon Photonics, Sensors and Navigation.
Responsibilities:
· Work in lab testing leading edge silicon photonics devices and optical sensor systems
· Work with team on design of experiments and reconfiguring optical and electrical test equipment to execute
· Work with team to analyze results and use test results to feed into future test chips.
Requirements:
· Graduate-level (MS 3 years or PhD) in EE, Optical Eng, Physics, Material Science, or similar.
· Hands-on experience in an optoelectronics lab performing component or system bench-level testing; familiarity with sources, fiber optics, detector and relevant test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.)
· Working knowledge of statistics for analysis of experimental data
· Working knowledge of integrated photonics and PICs design and testing
· Creativity in problem-solving, diagnosing, and experimental troubleshooting
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Additional Desired Skills:
· Proficiency with scripting and tools development for testing and data analysis
· Background or interest in Silicon Photonics, gyroscopes, or inertial measurement systems
· Self-motivated to learn new skills and ability to work in a fast-paced and innovation-driven environment
