JOB DESCRIPTION: Senior Manager – Career Development
Working under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Senior Manager – Career Development is responsible for the management of ANEW career development and navigation programs such as the Washington Grant for Apprenticeship Program, the Apprentice Readiness and Retention Center (ARRC), employment navigation, barrier removal services, financial coaching activities, and career development and retention for pre-apprenticeship students. This position will supervise a team of 3 or more specialists operating in each of these three areas of retention.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Oversee enrollment process of clients into the ARRC Program and administering of support services.
- Manage the client files and data system for accuracy at a level that will ensure the organization will pass multiple monitoring reviews/audits.
- Manage the assistance of ANEW clients to establish and advance careers through a combination of deliberate actions, experiences, education, and skill-building.
- Assist marketing in developing materials targeting potential employers, and identifying potential success stories to be published, speakers for special events, social media collaborations, etc.
- Understanding and experience working with grant funding and fulfilling grant requirements and deliverables.
- Submit regular and annual reporting on client placement rates, retention rates, and employer engagement activities.
- Assist in the dissemination of support services to eligible clients.
- Ongoing supervision of a team of three or more specialists working on direct client services.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate records of support services.
- Oversee job placement activities for pre-apprenticeship students such as corporate and partner relationship building, communication, and relationship upkeep.
- Assess students for BFET enrollment and maintain BFET status as required by the program policies and procedures.
- Regular collaboration with ANEW outreach team to meet contract deliverables and goals on target.
- Management and delegation of program outreach requirements to program sponsors, prospective sponsors, and clients.
- Oversee and assist clients with removal of barriers to employment, navigation services to employment, and coordinating employment opportunities for clients.
- Develop and maintain employer and apprenticeship program contacts.
- Enter job placement information in Salesforce CRM and database.
- Oversee the performance of monthly retention checks and address client barriers.
- Responsible for overseeing all aspects of client tracking in Salesforce CRM and database including all participant demographic information, case notes, employment information, retention services, as well as support service disbursements.
- Responsible for ensuring physical files and electronic files are consistent and accurate, and input into data management systems.
- Support the development of monthly and quarterly reports and invoices by providing data regarding enrollments, support services, placements, and retention services.
- Responsible for weekly matching of support services database with accounting system.
- Responsible for creation and completion of regular reports as required by funders and grantors.
- Regular contact and check ins with funders and grantors regarding program specifics and guidelines, then dissemination and delegation of this information to stakeholders and team members.
- Other Duties as Assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Have one or more of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of experience working directly in a nonprofit or social service agency administering support services and working with clients directly and 2 years of management experience.
- A minimum of 10 years’ work experience with a non-profit or social service agency focused on case/client management and 3 years of management/supervisory experience.
- Experience working with diverse populations and historically marginalized communities.
- 5 years of professional management or supervisory experience.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, and ability to work with a team.
- Experience as the point of contact for grantors/funders, creating monthly reports, tracking and meeting deliverables, and ensuring program excellence.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Superb customer service skills.
- Proven ability to be organized and detail orientated.
- Excellent people manager, open to direction and collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done.

REQUIREMENTS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Background screening through Washington State Patrol.
- Ability to work flexible schedule to include evening and or weekend.
- Ability to get to multiple work locations on a routine basis.
- Proof of citizenship or other authorization for employment.
- Continuation of employment is contingent upon successfully performing work described.
- Continuation of this position is dependent on achievement of performance goals and availability of funding.
Work Location: ANEW Administration office (Tukwila) and satellite locations as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm with occasional evenings and weekends as needed.

SALARY
This position is paid as a salary, exempt employee with a starting pay rate of between $81,219 - $92,720.25 Annually. This is an exempt position, Monday through Friday, 8:00am- 4:30pm and occasional evening or weekend work. This position requires the ability to travel occasionally. This position is grant funded and continuation of this position is subject to continuation of funding. The starting salary is based on education and experience.
BENEFITS
This position is an exempt position. The person in this position is expected to serve a 90-day probation period. Benefits will not be included until and unless the position is made permanent, which is contingent upon performance evaluation, funding, board direction, and potential re-development of the organization and its training/service delivery models. If the position is more than 30/hours per week, employer paid medical benefits will include medical, dental, and vision benefits.
A portion of the medical premium is made by the employee through a pre-tax contribution at the time of payroll posting. Employees at 30/hours a week or greater qualify for full benefits and pay a pre-tax contribution of $80 per month. Employees who work less than 30 hours per week are not eligible to receive health benefits. Additional employer paid benefits include basic life insurance, vacation, sick leave, holiday pay and taxes as required by law.
