The Angad Arts Hotel, located in the heart of St. Louis’s Grand Center Arts District, is looking for an experienced group sales manager who can bring in new clients and maintain great relationships with established clients while embracing the uniqueness and creativeness of our hotel.

We believe that the sales and events team and the leadership within helps us to deliver an experience for our guests that elicits surprise, delight, and joy.

The Angad Arts Hotel is a revitalized 12-story property offers 146 colorfully inspired guest rooms, including 38 suites. The nearly 8,000 square feet of meeting space offers two exquisite private event spaces, the city’s most magnificent outdoor rooftop bar and soon to be added signature restaurant on the main floor of the hotel.

As Group Sales Manager, you will be bringing awareness to existing and new clientele, as well as the overall market. Maximizing the uniqueness within the property, showcase what sets Angad Arts Hotel apart from any other competitor and form lasting relationships.

We are looking for someone to think outside the box, utilize unique spaces and dream beyond the walls of each space. You will actively sell the space, while taking care of all the details from start to finish to ensure every detail is as the guests envisioned.

Your day-to-day

  • Responsible for learning the hotel brand and strategy while communicating this with potential clients and maximizing uniqueness of the property.
  • Manage all group accounts to maximize potential and gain referrals
  • Negotiate group business, guest room rates, meeting room rental, and hotel services within assigned markets that meets or exceeds hotel revenue goals with assistance from DOS and DORM
  • Ensure all pertinent aspects of solicitation, closing, and customer communications are complete and documented maintain existing accounts with active trace/follow up system
  • Identifies and solicits new accounts from intel gathered within the comp set and networking through appointments, site tours, cold calls, and inquiries
  • Develops, maintains, and prospects a Target List of accounts and communicates updates to DOS
  • Assist with all group functions from proposal through departure – including rooming list, daily inspection of guest folio, communication with front office on group arrival, communication with accounting regarding guest billing, communication with events team on details, communication with all operations teams and necessary
  • Conduct pre- and post-conference meetings when it is agreeable with the client
  • Attends property specific receptions to generate leads and interact with customers
  • Organize and execute local area blitzes and maintains active membership in local chapters of relevant organizations (MPI, ASAE, etc.)
  • Builds relationships with competitors in like roles to keep apprised of trends in the market
  • Conducts tours of the hotel and banquet facilities; entertains qualified potential clients in accordance with company and property policies and procedures
  • Provide prompt and accurate responses to all client requests for proposals and detailing
  • Consistently meet or exceed sales goals including predetermined revenue and sales activity
  • Perform various other duties as assigned to meet business objective

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of High school education, post-high school education preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years in hotel sales role, detailing experience required
  • Delphi knowledge preferred

  • Outgoing personality
  • Always maintains a professional image through appearance and dress
  • Ability to work collaboratively with hotel service team in providing exceptional customer service
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate ability to achieve sales goals
  • Proactive sales approach; assertive and fast paced, driven to succeed
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Understands need time strategy as developed by Revenue Management
  • Must have flexible work hours that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
