Golf Course Irrigation Specialist
Angel Fire Resort is seeking an Irrigation Specialist to maintain our Golf Course. This position will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent ensuring that all parts of the irrigation system are properly installed, are functioning correctly, and are well calculated. The successful candidate will have experience with irrigation systems and will be able to carry out all of the duties listed below following all safety practices and procedures.

Attendance: Regular, predictable, punctual, and in-person attendance is essential, includes weekends and holidays as scheduled

Typical Shift: 7am-3:30pm
Environment: This is an outdoor position and applicants can expect to work long hours in variable weather conditions while performing heavy work (must be able to lift/move up to 100 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 25 pounds constantly)
Experience: 2-3 years working irrigation/landscaping in professional capacity

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

- Assists Golf Course Superintendent and AGCS in the programming, operation, and maintenance of the central irrigation computer system and subsequent satellites.
- Conducts morning evaluations of golf course irrigation, including pump station checks to determine previous irrigation cycle success.
- Records daily water usage from pump stations for comparison and logs.
- Evaluates proper operation of all pump stations and communicates with Golf Course Superintendent as to required work and preventative maintenance
- Maintains and repairs the installed golf course irrigations system, including heads, pipes, valves, wire, etc.
- Supervises and participates in additional irrigation installations and drainage projects.
- Conducts winterization and start-up of irrigation system and pump stations.
- Communicates with GCS to schedule manpower and resources with regards to irrigation needs.
- Advises on other irrigation systems on site (clubhouse, landscape, domestic, etc.)
- Keeps inventory of all irrigation’s parts, fittings, and accessories.
- Operates specialized equipment such as trencher, skid steer, and backhoe.
- Reports and irregularities in course turf quality to Golf Course Superintendent or AGCS
- Performs other duties as directed by his supervisor.
