Angel Kids Pediatrics is the largest Pediatric group in Jacksonville, FL, with 7 offices and 15 providers caring for more than 40,000 families in the greater Jacksonville area, our practice is growing and in looking for a business minded manger/administrator, who has a track records of managing a practice of this size and can prove ability to help the expansion plan and have a great understanding of the global picture of the health care and know how to apply that to the local market here in Jacksonville, our practice has population health management contracts, other quality programs and many metrics to meet.
Position Summary:
Under general direction, the Administrator assumes line responsibility and authority for the administrative direction, evaluation, and coordination of the functions and activities of assigned departments within the practice, ensuring that operation objectives and results are in accord with the practice’s overall needs. In the absence of the CEO and/or as assigned, the Administrator represents the CEO in coordinating entire portions of the practice’s organization, speaking and acting within the scope of objectives set forth in the practice and/or policy of the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Supports organization in building quality improvement infrastructure. Activities include team-building, improving communication, facilitating meetings, and helping to develop leadership skills.
- Able to determine the key business issues and develop appropriate action plans from various perspectives.
- Will be managed by performance metrics; e.g. daily/weekly/monthly productivity measures, and results reporting.
- Provides administrative direction for operations of assigned departments and appraises the performance of the respective departments’ heads, including authority to hire and fire, but subject to the veto of the CEO.
- Communicates routinely with the CEO concerning policy recommendations and suggested courses of action pertinent to the efficient operation of assigned departments.
- Implements new policies and comprehensive services; disseminates pertinent information following administrative directives; and recommends improvement of practice locations in assigned areas, including construction or renovation of structures and acquisition of new locations.
- Promotes complete involvement of the departments’ heads in the preparation of the departments’ budgets and educates them in the importance of the budget, forecasting and planning process.
- Advises and makes recommendations to the CEO concerning budget, cost, and financial matters and encourages and assists department heads in establishing a measure of performance, increased productivity, quality improvement, cost controls, and maximum utilization of locations.
- Advises the CEO where executive action is necessary to accomplish these goals and he/she plans the activities of the individual departments in relation to other departments so as to obtain a better understanding of each other’s’ problems.
- Able to articulate operations of the program, health policy trends, and any applicable regulations related to the responsible technical area
- Assists with interpretation, negotiation, and implementation of value-based (risk-sharing) contracts with various payers.
- Assists with transition of providers to productivity-based payment structures, working with the Quality department and Financial Officer.
- Designs and plans gathering and analysis of baseline data, and ongoing assessment of success throughout the project; provides ongoing support to practitioners by collecting and interpreting both quantitative and qualitative data, communicating results, and developing action plans accordingly.
- Observes, documents and analyzes practice operations to identify improvement opportunities; defines and aligns program improvement goals with practice’s improvement priorities and assists practice in incorporating the changes into daily routines and workflow to increase adoption.
- Consults with and enables practitioners at each phase of improvement (i.e., setting goals, thought partnering and recommending strategies or innovations, and execution) by providing tools, trainings, guiding them through rapid-cycle tests of change, and assisting when obstacles arise.
- Educate, document, and conduct progress checks to monitor clinicians in order to accelerate their quality performance efforts.
- Develops and coordinates all outreach efforts with internal and external stakeholders.
