Job Summary
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care by performing delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living.
- The PCT works under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN) to assist with mobility, nutrition, elimination, hygiene, and other essential patient needs.
- The PCT participates in maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
- The PCT assists with the collection of specimens for diagnostic tests and ensures accuracy in labeling and timely transfer of specimens.
- The PCT engages in evidence-based best practices that enhance the patient experience, including SAFETY rounding, communication fundamentals/AIDET, Teach-Back, Narrating Care, etc.
