Job Summary and Qualifications
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient-centered care. Under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN), the PCT assists with delegated basic patient care services, including activities of daily living and nursing functions. This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Responsibilities:
- Assists patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Collects and records patient information, including vital signs and medical history.
- Participates in the implementation of nursing care plans by performing direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of the licensed nurse.
- Transports patients to and from other units or departments.
- Assists with mobility by regular turning and positioning, dangling, and ambulating patients.
Requirements:
- Current listing with Nurse Aide Registry as a Nurse Aide I.
- BLS certification.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
