Job Summary
The Unit Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing nursing staff and ensuring the highest quality of resident care within the facility. Duties
- Supervise nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal patient care.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement resident care plans.
- Monitor resident progress and adjust care plans as necessary based on clinical assessments.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with ICD-10 coding standards.
- Oversee the administration of medications, IV insertion, tube feeding, and other medical procedures as required.
- Ensure proper documentation of laboratory results and communicate findings to relevant parties.
- Conduct regular staff meetings to discuss resident care issues, provide training, and promote professional development.
- Address any staffing issues or conflicts in a timely manner to maintain a harmonious work environment.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and infection control measures within the facility.
Experience
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a skilled Nursing facility is preferred.
- Proficiency in managing medical records and familiarity with laboratory procedures is essential.
- Strong skills in lifting residents safely and effectively are required to ensure resident comfort and safety during care activities.
- Knowledge of IV insertion techniques and tube feeding practices is advantageous for this role.
