Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily banquet operations including working with all departments on set up, day of event management and breakdown.
- Plan, coordinate and execute all catering events from start to finish and ensure the highest quality of product and guest service throughout.
- Partner closely with internal departments, to produce exceptional events.
- Assist the Sales team with managing the customer decision and relationship process.
- Hire, train and coach all banquet team members to ensure a cohesive and consistent team.
- Give clear directions to team members and maintain a professional, energetic work environment.
- Set and implement department standards for FOH set ups, cleanliness, training, personal appearance, guest service, etc.
- Provide team with support by holding team meetings, creating and monitoring side work sheets, and coaching as needed.
- Provide clear and timely feedback regarding coaching & counseling of team members.
- Maintain adequate staffing levels to support all banquet and event needs.
- Manage scheduling, inventory, labor management, team member training and evaluations
- Turn gratuity paperwork and any miscellaneous paperwork in, on time.
- Confirms hours, signatures and clock in clock out times.
- Oversees FOH team for Angel Eats.
- Attend and participate in weekly food and beverage meetings.
- Adhere to all Washington State Health and LCB regulations and guidelines.
- Maintain an excellent track record of maintaining budgetary allotments and exceeding guests’ expectations.
- Maintain an excellent knowledge of food, wine, and spirits.
- Work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Exceptional guest service skills required.
- 5 years in a FOH banquet managerial role; or any equivalent combination of managerial / supervisory experience in a banqueting FOH role that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to be successful.
- Must be customer service oriented and have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to multi-task and work independently.
- Ability to work in a challenging environment dealing with sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality with strong attention to detail and excellent problem solving, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain professional, courteous, and effective working relationships with all levels of the organization, outside business contacts and guests.
- Ability to manage change and evolving conditions with a positive attitude.
- Ability to work individually as well as in a team environment.
- Proven intermediate skills in Windows, MS Office Programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel), and experience with database systems. Ability to prepare reports, correspondence, charts, forms and other information and instructions.
Certificates, Licenses, Regulations
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Class A gaming license from the Stillaguamish Tribal Gaming Agency and Washington State.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Mast card and Washington State Food Handler’s card.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Constantly requires the ability to receive detailed information through oral and written communication. The position requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires repetitive movement daily with limited sedentary work, regular bending, lifting, reaching, twisting pushing, pulling and crouching. There are no adverse conditions, but employees are exposed to tobacco smoke on an occasional basis. This is a 24-hour, 7 day a week work operation
