Summary
Surveillance ensures the protection of tribal assets. We maintain a high level of game protection through proactive observation and protect the casino’s investments through data analysis and investigate review.
Responsibilities
- Maintains confidentiality over all Casino, Surveillance, Tribal, and Gaming Commission matters.
- Using multiple screens, monitors the external and internal activities of AOTW.
- Trains in all aspects of surveillance. Topics include camera and equipment utilization, cheating methods and detection techniques, game protection, basic strategy and card counting, all game rules and payoffs, all casino department procedures, and other necessary training or development.
- Accurately complete routine reports, log entries, video reviews, and all other functions related to casino surveillance.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to work in confined atmosphere.
- Protects the organization from losses due to internal and/or external causes; identifies, investigates, documents, audits, and offers solutions to areas vulnerable to loss or fraud from internal or external sources. Provides investigative results to on-duty supervisor or above.
- Analyzes data and statistics, identifying trends and abnormalities. Investigates and follows through on found abnormalities.
- Analyzes situations as they occur and takes appropriate action.
- Assists in the identification and detention of people who may be involved in illegal acts relating to gaming operations.
- Works on special projects and investigations assigned by management.
- Maintains strict confidence regarding company matters.
- Utilizes electronic devices to communicate between departments. Calls for assistance using proper code responses. Maintains polite, respectful communication.
- Arrives to work with enough time to relieve off-going shift at the appropriate end-shift time.
- Completes daily shift logs, investigation status notes, and incident reports as necessary. Initiates log entries to document unusual occurrences within the gaming facility, or the violation of: policy and procedure, regulations, tribal ordinance, the Tribal/State Compact, NIGC statutes, and IGRA statutes.
- Preserves video coverage/evidence of significant events as directed.
- Protects the gaming interests of the Stillaguamish Tribe of Indians and its membership.
- Must learn, comprehend, and maintain a fundamental knowledge of department and casino operations, Gaming Commission regulations, MICS, and Title 31 requirements.
- Reports non-compliance with or violations of company policy and procedures by all departments and all levels of employees including management. Reports any and all safety concerns.
- Cooperates with other department managers on matters of mutual concern. Cooperates with local gaming authorities and assists law enforcement agencies as necessary. Testifies in court on behalf of the company when required, maintaining strict confidentiality of surveillance operations.
- Works nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Previous auditing, data mining/analysis, investigations, table games, and/or surveillance experience is preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Regulations
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Class A/3 gaming license from the Stillaguamish Tribal Gaming Agency and Washington State.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Constantly able to receive detailed information through oral and written communication. Exertion of up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Repetitive movement daily. Frequent sedentary work, occasional bending and crouching. There are no adverse conditions, but employee is exposed to tobacco smoke on a regular basis. This is a 24 hour, 7 days a week work operation.
