QUALIFICATIONS
The Direct Care Staff to possess the following minimum qualifications:
(1) Education and experience required in the job description; and
(2) The ability to perform the functions required in the program design.
(3) Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
(4) Must be able to work well in a group setting with peers and consumers.
(5) Must be able to read and write the English language, including completing all required
Documentation.
(6) Assist consumers with all activities of daily living as necessary.
(7) The Hoyer Lift must be used if the client is unable to stand up and pivot.
(8) Must pass criminal clearance.
(9) Must obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certificates within 90 days of employment.
JOB DESCRIPTION DIRECT CARE STAFF
The Direct Care Staff to be responsible for the following functions:
- Implementing program curricula;
- Directly delivering individual and group learning experiences to assist each consumer served in obtaining his/her IPP objective(s) for which the vendor is responsible;
- Maintaining data regarding consumer progress; and
- Participation in consumer assessment, planning and evaluation processes;
- Provide assistance with ADL skills as needed;
- Observe for health concerns;
- Position, reposition and assist consumers to transfer as needed and at least every 2 hours;
- Participate in community outings;
- Assist consumers to prepare lunch as per IPP objective(s);
- To attend all scheduled in-service training and staff meetings; before, during and after hours of scheduled work.
- Perform daily cleaning of facility as assigned;
- Staff may be assigned additional duties by the team leaders, floor manager and director or administrator.
- To report necessary incidents involving staff to floor managers or Administrator.
- To report necessary incidents involving consumers to Floor managers or Administrator.
- To report necessary incidents involving maintenance to floor managers or Administrator.
- Provide activities as trained during in-services and one to one training as needed.
- To follow directions as given by supervisors.
- To identify hazards and address the concern with Floor Managers and or Administrator.
- To assist peers with consumer care as needed.
- To follow and implement consumer care plans as directed.
- To read and be knowledgeable on all consumer charts, information, care plans, diagnosis, meal patterns, seizures, adaptive equipment, personal items, special needs, nursing requirements and any other necessary pertinent information related to the AVADC consumers.
- To follow program rules.
- To exercise good and professional peer relations.
- To conduct themselves professionally with supervisors and visitors of the AVADC.
- To participate in events related to the AVADC within programing hours.
- To perform other tasks requested by supervisors as needed and directed to do so.
- To complete tasks within hours of operation when possible.
- To complete tasks beyond scheduled hours if needed and approved so long as the staff is being paid
For time necessary to complete the task.
- To Clock in and out as required by company policy.
- To follow angel View policies as directed in the Employee handbook.
- To call off at least 2 hours prior to shift.
- Obtain and maintain water certificate and assist consumers in all hydrotherapy activities.
