Position Overview
The Outreach Advocate plays a key role in increasing program visibility and engagement by actively participating in community events, resource fairs, and collaboration meetings. This position is responsible for conducting outreach on a daily basis, managing a heavy caseload, handling high volumes of phone calls, and providing administrative support to ensure smooth program operations. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively managing multiple responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Outreach & Advocacy
- Conduct daily outreach efforts to engage with community members, service providers, and stakeholders.
- Represent the program at community events, resource fairs, and collaboration meetings across Riverside County (travel up to 200 miles required).
- Develop and maintain relationships with partner organizations to enhance service delivery.
- Provide information and referrals to potential participants and partner agencies.
- Assist in organizing and facilitating outreach events.
Administrative & Program Support
- Serve as the front office and outreach receptionist regularly.
- Implement administrative systems, procedures, and policies to support outreach initiatives.
- Manage and track outreach efforts using program databases and reporting tools.
- Maintain records, analyze data, and prepare reports to assess outreach impact.
- Ensure office operations run smoothly by monitoring supplies, coordinating equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting administrative issues.
- Schedule and conduct intake assessments for outreach clients.
- Respond to inquiries from the public, providing accurate program information.
- Support program staff with additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Ability to work independently without the need for micromanagement.
- Prior administrative experience.
- Strong ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Willingness and ability to learn and utilize outreach database systems.
- Strong communication skills to engage with diverse communities.
- Experience coordinating projects with multiple moving parts.
- Ability to handle a high volume of phone calls and caseloads.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office software.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed (with advance notice).
- Reliable transportation is required for travel throughout Riverside County and surrounding areas (up to 200 miles).
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in outreach, advocacy, or administrative support.
- Prior experience in community outreach or social services preferred.
Additional Information
This position requires frequent travel, a heavy outreach workload, and a high level of community engagement. Additional responsibilities may be assigned at the supervisor’s discretion.
