Overview:
Angels Baseball is required by Major League Baseball to enforce all of the rules and regulations concerning security. The Security Host (Dispatcher) is responsible for monitoring communications of event staff during events and ensuring strict enforcement of MLB guidelines.
The base pay rate for Security Hosts is $16.50 per hour. However, those working as a dispatcher (added skill) will receive a $1.00 per hour premium for dispatcher shifts worked. Staff with Dispatcher skill may, on occasion, be scheduled as a regular security host dependent on business needs.
This position is also eligible for sick time (after 90 days of employment), 401k employee contribution participation after 3 months of employment and complimentary tickets to games (12 per season)
Duties:
Will be responsible for obtaining information from various departments and inputting the information into the computer based ISS 24/7 Software system. Ability to learn the functions of other departments to be able to log incidents occurred during an event in the system properly and accordingly. Assists security personnel to ensure MLB and Angels Baseball security standards are met.
Other duties include but are not limited to:
• Monitoring cameras to assist security and first aid teams
• Monitoring radio traffic and phone calls to direct and coordinate services
• Ensuring security posts are all covered during events
• Executing emergency response protocols when needed
• Communication with Event/Security/Facilities management
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior security or asset protection experience a plus but not required
• Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and diplomacy, work well with others; establishing and maintaining effective relationships with fellow workers and supervisors, strong oral communication skills, works well under pressure, remaining calm yet tactful when required
• Must be observant and have the ability to think clearly in emergencies; giving accurate instructions and information to others
• Must have the ability to multi- task in a fast paced environment. Must have excellent data entry and reporting skills
• Must be able to flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
• Must be able to begin working 4 hours prior to game start time
Physical Demands:
• Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time (up to 5 hours at a time)
• Must be able to occasionally walk, climb stairs and ramps
• Must be able to work in inclement weather
• Must be able to occasionally lift/move items weighing from 10 to 50 lbs.
