Los Angeles Angels - Full Time Security Host

Overview:

Under moderate supervision, the Full-Time Security Host is responsible for assisting with the oversight of various areas within the ballpark and parking lot in order to provide a safe and secure environment for players, employees, and guests.  Act as a 24-hour loss prevention specialist supporting the Front Office operation and ensuring strict enforcement of MLB guidelines. 

This position is also benefit eligible including: medical, dental and vision insurance, 401K eligibility; employee contributions after 3 months, employer matching and safe harbor after 1 year and 1000 hours of employment. Additional perks such as 13 paid holidays, sick days, vacation accrual (2 weeks vacation), tickets to games. The expected salary for this position can range from $21.00/per hour-$23.00/per hour.

Duties:

Will be primarily responsible for maintenance and operation of security systems. Ability to learn the functions of other departments, and be able to plan and coordinate security setup and support. Assists security personnel to ensure MLB and Angels Baseball security standards are met. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Ensure and enforce Angels Baseball and MLB policies.
• Conduct and provide oversight of stadium closure operations for all events, includes collecting and inspecting equipment, preparing documentation, and supporting overnight staff.
• Participate in the management of stadium access and credential program, includes device management and solutions. 
• Provides 24/7 loss prevention assistance for the stadium, includes conducting inspections of areas and equipment.
• Documents all security-related incidents, preparing and distributing necessary reports; updating daily security logs for review.
• Assist with lost and found recovery and claims.
• Assist in threat management (research and documents incidents, threats, and persons), as well as security practice surveys and assessments.
• Liaison with the Anaheim Police Department and Fire Department for security-related occurrence requiring their assistance.
• Position will ensure that MLB and Angels Baseball security standards are met; will be familiar with lists, guides and reference material provided by MLB

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 1-3 years security or event operations experience
• Must possess strong oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and diplomacy
• Must work well with others; establishing and maintaining effective relationships with fellow workers and supervisors
• Works well under pressure, remaining calm yet tactful when required
• Ability to be observant and think clearly in emergencies; giving accurate instructions and information to others
• Highly-motivated, self-initiated, critical thinker, analytical mindset
• Professional demeanor, ability to communicate with diverse audiences
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint) 
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekdays, weekends and evenings (including graveyard shifts if needed)
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to frequently sit, walk and stand for extended periods of time, including going up and down ramps and stairs
• Must be able to occasionally squat, climb and kneel
• Must be able to work in inclement weather
• Must be able to work in noisy environments
• Must be able to frequently lift/move items weighing up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift/move items weighing up to 50lbs.
