Los Angeles Angels-Minor League Rehab Coach (Tempe, AZ)

Overview:

The Los Angeles Angels Player Development Department have a Minor League Rehab Coach position available for the 2025 Season. The Minor League Baseball Rehab Coach plays a crucial role in supporting injured players during their rehabilitation process. This position focuses on implementing tailored training programs created by Rehab Coordinator, Minor League Physical Therapist and Rehab S&C Coach to help players regain their strength, skills, and overall readiness to return to competitive play. The Rehab Coach will work closely with the team's medical staff, S&C Coaches, and player development coaching staff to ensure a comprehensive approach to player recovery.

This position is also benefit eligible including: medical, dental and vision insurance, 401K eligibility; employee contributions after 3 months, employer matching and safe harbor after 1 year and 1000 hours of employment and additional perks not listed above. The expected salary for this position can range from $90,000 - $100,000. Final offers for this role will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided. Years of experience, skills, and other factors are considered when determining the salary offered.  The position will be located in Tempe, AZ although travel to affiliates may be required on an as needed basis. The expected start date is November 1, 2024 (Start date is flexible)

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Rehabilitation Program Implementation:
  • Implement individualized rehab programs based on player assessments and medical recommendations as per Los Angels Medical and Performance Staff.
  • Monitor progress and adjust programs as necessary to optimize recovery.
• Collaboration with Medical Staff:
  • Work closely with athletic trainers, physical therapists, S&C Coaches and PD Coaches to coordinate rehabilitation efforts.
  • Communicate regularly about players’ statuses and updates on recovery timelines.
• On-Field Coaching:
  • Provide instruction and support during practice sessions, focusing on skill development and functional movement.
  • Conduct drills and exercises that are safe and beneficial for rehabilitating players.
• Player Support:
  • Offer psychological support and motivation to players during their recovery process.
  • Foster a positive environment that encourages players to stay engaged and focused.
• Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain detailed records of players’ rehabilitation progress and program effectiveness.
  • Provide regular updates to the coaching staff regarding player readiness and progress.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience playing baseball
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Willing to work long and flexible hours.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
