Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
- Support individuals with dementia care by employing effective communication techniques and creating a safe environment.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Document client progress and report any concerns or changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Assist with mobility and transportation needs, ensuring clients can attend appointments or social activities.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to deliver comprehensive care tailored to individual needs.
Skills
- Experience in senior care or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices and medication administration protocols is essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients and their families.
