Director, Accounting

As the Director of Accounting, you will lead financial reporting, accounting operations, and internal controls, ensuring accurate financial data and supporting the company’s strategic goals. Additionally, you will lead and develop accounting staff, cultivating a culture of high performance and continuous growth. You will take a hands-on approach to optimizing financial processes while fostering collaboration and driving efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the accounting department, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and internal controls
• Prepare and review financial statements for accuracy and completeness
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and controls
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
• Partner with external auditors and tax professionals for audits and tax compliance
• Provide financial analysis and insights for strategic decision-making, leveraging advanced data analysis skills to present clear, compelling insights to all levels of management
• Optimize accounting systems and technology for efficiency
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff, fostering a high-performance culture
• Demonstrate creativity and flexibility in problem-solving and project collaboration
• Partner with finance, operations, and executive leadership, confidently engaging in strategic discussions and negotiations
  
  

Qualifications

• 7 years of progressive accounting experience
• Master’s degree in Accounting
• CPA required
• Comprehensive understanding of finance and accounting in a healthcare environment
  
  

Skills And Experience

• Proven experience implementing accounting standards in multi-state organizations
• Experience with high-growth companies and M&A-oriented businesses
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP (ASC 842 and/or 606) is a plus
