Direct Support Professional (DSP)

The Direct Support Professional is responsible for a variety of duties related to the overall care of individuals with developmental disabilities who reside in Angelwood’s residential group homes and/or attend the adult day training program. This includes direct care of program individuals and implementation of Individual Program Plans (IPP) and behavior plans (BP). Direct Support Professionals are required to perform all duties in accordance with State of Florida’s regulations and Angelwood’s policies and procedures. The primary responsibilities include assisting with self-care and daily living activities, assisting individuals in the pursuit of recreational, social and community activities, and safely transporting people to participate in meaningful day activities.
This is a full time, non-exempt position. The DSP reports to the Program Director. The successful candidate must have proven client focus, communication and teamwork skills.
Positions Available:
- Part Time - Monday-Friday 6AM-10AM
- Full Time - Monday-Thursday 6:00AM-4:00PM or Tuesday-Friday 6:00AM-4:00PM
- Full Time - Monday-Friday 8:00AM-3:30PM
- Full Time - In group homes ONLY - Must work 4 weekday evenings and 1 weekend day
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalency
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have a valid Florida Driver’s license
- Pass Background check
- Complete and pass the Medication Administration Validation process, Professional Crisis Management and CPR
