Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Certified Veterinary Technician or someone that is in school pursing their Veterinary Technician Certification to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a passion for providing the best care for animals. As a Certified Veterinary Technician you will play a critical role in supporting our veterinarians in both routine and advanced medical care, while also ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic.
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in the examination, diagnosis, and treatment of animals
- Perform routine laboratory tests (blood work, urinalysis, etc.)
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed
- Monitor patients during surgery and recovery
- Provide client education on animal care, nutrition, and posttreatment care
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
- Take and process Xrays and other diagnostic imaging
- Assist with dental cleanings, anesthesia monitoring, and surgical preparation
- Ensure a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols
Qualifications:
- Veterinary Technician Certification in good standing to practice in Minnesota or pursing Certification
- 12 years of experience in a veterinary clinic or hospital setting preferred
- Proficiency in handling animals of all sizes and temperaments
- Strong technical skills, including phlebotomy, anesthesia monitoring, and radiology
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Compassionate and patient with both animals and their owners
- Ability to multitask and work in a fastpaced environment
- Familiarity with veterinary software systems is a plus
