We are looking for individuals who are highly motivated and want to revolutionize the health insurance industry. As a senior accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, assisting with the month end close, conducting internal audits, and other ad hoc tasks.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong interest in health insurance, excellent financial accounting and analytical skills, a bias toward action, and exceptional organizational and communication abilities. Our team moves quickly to make company-wide decisions, thus it is crucial to strike a balance between getting the details right while still moving fast. Finally, we are looking for someone eager to learn and grow with minimal supervision from senior staff.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the general ledger, prepare journal entries, and ensure the accuracy of financial records
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and account reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to management on financial performance
- Collaborate with the team to streamline financial processes and implement best practices
- Assist in the preparation of tax filings and liaise with external auditors
- Assist the Head of Finance/Accounting as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 4 years of accounting experience
- Working knowledge of GAAP
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills
- Good problem-solving and time-management skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Advanced degree in Accounting or Finance or CPA certification
- Experience working for a startup
- Experience with Sage Intacct
- Experience in the Insurance industry
- Big 4 accounting experience or audit experience

Salary : $110,000 - $130,000
