Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Airfield Trainer specializing in snow removal operations to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in airfield maintenance, heavy equipment operation, and airfield safety, with the ability to train personnel effectively. This role involves providing hands-on training on snow removal techniques, airfield markings, and proper use of heavy equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations in winter conditions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs focused on snow removal techniques and the use of heavy equipment such as plows, blowers, and sweepers.
- Educate trainees on airfield markings, signage, and operational guidelines to ensure compliance with aviation safety standards.
- Conduct practical, hands-on training sessions in varying weather conditions to simulate real-world scenarios.
- Train personnel on preventive maintenance and inspection of equipment to maintain optimal performance during operations.
- Monitor trainee progress and provide feedback to enhance skills and ensure readiness for airfield snow removal tasks.
- Promote safety best practices and conduct safety briefings to minimize risks during snow removal operations.
- Collaborate with operations teams to align training with airfield needs and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain training documentation, including records of participant performance and certification status.
- Ensure training areas and equipment are organized, operational, and in compliance with safety standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in airfield operations, heavy equipment operation, or snow removal management.
- Strong knowledge of airfield markings, aviation safety protocols, and winter operations.
- Excellent communication and instructional skills with the ability to train individuals and teams effectively.
- Familiarity with maintenance practices for snow removal equipment is a plus.
- Certification or formal training in heavy equipment operation or a related field is preferred.
- A passion for aviation safety and the ability to inspire and engage trainees in achieving operational excellence.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
