Job Description
Reporting to the Vice President, Sales & Client Management, the Partner & Client Engagement Manager is responsible for managing operational support to ensure efficiency of administration, inventory, operations and logistics while collaborating with partners, retailers and the sales team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management and support overall operations of US business.
- Manage all functions of operations ensuring efficient administration of business activities.
- Manage training requirements for retailers.
- Follow up on all memo needs and requirements as well as sales to retailers.
- Ensure proper movement of product including shipments, transfers, consignments and movement between overseas offices, partners and retailers.
- Oversee inventory control processes to insure accurate control of inventory.
- Manage an operations team when the need arises (2026 onwards).
- Assist in trade or partner events both in and out of New York City.
The salary range for the position USD $130,000 – USD $148,200 pre annum.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate qualification (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in a relevant functional discipline, e.g., Business, Commercial, Marketing or equivalent record of extensive experience in a role and context of similar complexity.
- 5 years in operations management.
- Experience in developing and executing operations strategies that drive revenue growth.
- Strong background in operations, budgeting, and performance analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key clients.
- Experience in developing client retention strategies and improving customer satisfaction.
- Expertise in handling complex client negotiations and resolving conflicts.
- Deep understanding of the industry in which the company operates, including market trends and competitive landscape.
- Experience in strategic planning, including market analysis and identifying growth opportunities.
- Ability to translate strategic goals into actionable plans and initiatives.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using data and analytics to drive operational performance and make informed decisions.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges and capitalize on opportunities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients, team members, and other departments.
- Must have strong relationships with key retailers and wholesalers in the region
Knowledge and Skills:
- Mental Processing Ability: Critical issue identification, systematic analysis, creative problem-solving.
- Knowledge & Technical Skills: Understanding of diamond and jewelry landscape, strong analytical skills, and full understanding of 4 Cs of a diamond and the expectations of the US retailer. This person will be working with Sightholders in New York as well as some wholesalers (working from their offices) to ensure management of De Beers polished diamond inventory and support the movement of such inventory to and from various retailers in the US. The role will require management of training of retailers, communicating and executing on sales follow-through (post sales of diamonds and/or memo of diamonds).
