In this role, you will support key financial functions, including month-end close, treasury management, accounts payable oversight, and financial reporting. Additionally, you will have opportunities to contribute to process improvements, acquisition integrations, tax and audit support, and expanded financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with all accounting tasks, and support the full month-end closing process, including posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring that all transactions are recorded in a timely and accurate manner.
- Regularly reconcile the company's bank accounts, ensuring that all transactions are accounted for correctly and matching the bank statements.
- Analyze existing accounting processes, identify areas for improvement, and recommend new controls to ensure compliance with financial regulations. The goal is to make the company’s financial operations more efficient and reliable.
- Collaborate with external tax advisors and auditors, providing necessary financial documents and supporting data during audits and tax filings.
- Review the company’s balance sheet on a monthly and quarterly basis to ensure all assets, liabilities, and equity accounts are accurate.
- Oversee the reconciliation of the company’s various bank accounts, reviewing transactions, coding them correctly in the financial system, and ensuring that the balances match the statements.
- The Senior Accountant will work on creating and documenting detailed finance processes and procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy. Additionally, this role will include training new and current team members on these procedures to maintain efficiency and compliance across the department.
- Monitor and manage the accounts payable process, ensuring that all vendor invoices are processed and paid on time.
- Assist in onboarding new team members as the department grows.
- Manage various systems administration tasks
- Responsible for ensuring that the company remains compliant with state-level financial reporting requirements. This includes preparing necessary reports and filings for state tax authorities, ensuring timely and accurate submission.
- The Senior Accountant will collaborate with the payroll team during payroll cycles, ensuring that all necessary accounting adjustments are made and that payroll data is accurate.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- At least 2 years of accounting and managerial experience, with 1-4 years of general accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accrual accounting principles.
- Multi-site healthcare experience is nice but not required.
- CPA certification is preferred but not required.
