What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Angstrom Fiber Englewood, LLC?
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on production equipment and maintaining the building to ensure full and productive use of the facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following, other duties may be assigned.
- Perform safe work practices as well as safe operation of vehicles, power tools and equipment
- Responsible for performing preventative maintenance program (inspection and examination of machinery and equipment)
- Trouble shoot and problem solve to maintain power transmission, hydraulic, pneumatic, electric and PLC systems
- Perform welding and fabrication as required
- Determines necessary changes, adjustments and modifications to obtain desired results from machinery, using O.E.M. specifications, blueprints, sketches & manuals.
- Works closely with other Maintenance Team and Technical Group team members.
- Create work orders for work performed using CMMS.
- Participate in and maintain 5S standards.
- Participate in Kaizen activity.
- Must be available on a call-in basis for emergencies.
- Supports activities related to the maintenance of our ISO14001 EMS.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 5 years experience in a high volume, automated, manufacturing environment, preferably automotive environment.
· Working understanding of the impact of failure/downtime on production and ultimately customer delivery
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
· Experience working with robotics and PLC’s is preferred.
· Strong mechanical aptitude, electrical, machining, plumbing, welding & fabrication experience
- Practical knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment, materials, tooling, presses, pneumatics, hydraulics, controls.
- Problem solving.
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints, schematics, sketches and manuals.
- Must be a self starter, able to work independently as well as within a team.
- Ability to communicate with all inside and outside contacts.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to communicate in both written and spoken English
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to use basic shop math skills
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
