Responsibilities
- Curate and maintain an extensive wine list that reflects the restaurant's cuisine and enhances guest satisfaction.
- Provide expert advice on wine pairings for menu items, ensuring an exceptional dining experience for guests.
- Conduct wine tastings and educate staff on wine selections to improve their knowledge and upselling capabilities.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create unique pairings that complement seasonal menus.
- Manage inventory of wines, including ordering, receiving, and proper storage practices.
- Assist in training staff on wine service techniques and proper handling procedures.
- Engage with guests to offer personalized recommendations and enhance their overall dining experience.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new wines, and emerging regions to continuously improve the wine program.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is essential.
- Strong knowledge of wines, including varietals, regions, and food pairings.
