About The Role

Reporting to the Senior HR Director, Rare Disease, this position plays a critical role within the HR team in driving business success. The right individual will have a blended background in Talent & Development and HR Business Partnering and thrive in setting a strategy and driving the execution. This position will provide HR support to the Rare Disease organization, and be responsible for Talent & Development across ANI United. The position works cross functionally to build partnerships and deliver results that support the organizational and functional objectives of the business.

The Director, HR & T&D works within the HR department at the commercial headquarters located in Princeton, NJ and will work a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office and 2 days remotely.

Responsibilities

  • HR Business Partnering:
    • Act as a strategic partner to business leaders and managers
    • Collaborates across the HR Team and broader business to develop and deploy HR strategies that align with the organization’s business goals and objectives
    • Stay current with industry trends and best practices to ensure the facility remains competitive in terms of HR practices
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders on HR matters, providing guidance and support on employee relations issues
    • Implement and maintain effective employee relations programs and initiatives
    • Serve as an unbiased resource for management and employees, specifically with regards to conflict resolution
    • Supports line managers in navigating difficult conversations and if needed, implementing Performance Improvement Plans
  • Talent Management:
    • Develop, enhance and oversee the performance management cycle, including goal setting, performance appraisals, and employee development plans,
    • Create and facilitate communication and training programs associated with Talent initiatives, including the performance management cycle
    • Develop and lead performance management norms like calibration and succession planning, followed by the development of individual career development paths
    • Partner with Training to oversee the onboarding experience for new hires in Rare Disease and encourage adoption across the total organization
    • Identify learning and development needs within the Rare Disease organization and design programs to address them
  • Communications and Culture:
    • Provide clear and concise communication on Talent & Development initiatives, policy updates, cultural initiatives, and HR operating procedures
    • Create cross functional relationships with various teams, like IT and Finance, to facilitate collaboration between departments, enabling change
  • HR Technology:
    • Support the ongoing use of the Oracle HRIS system and other various HR related systems, including the process of keeping relevant data current in the HRIS systems and leveraging technology to drive efficiency and improve the total employee experience
  • Compensation and Benefits:
    • Work in partnership with the Director, Compensation & Total Rewards to ensure competitive compensation packages to attract and retain top talent
    • Be well-versed in the available benefits and own leave administration process (parental leave, FMLA, STD, etc.)
  • Compliance and Regulations:
    • Ensure HR practices comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as industry-specific regulations
    • Stay informed of changes in labor laws and regulations that may impact the organization, and proactively communicate any needed changes to operating norms
    • Have a bias for action with implementing regulatory or compliance corrections

    • Building strong and trusted partnerships with business leaders and HR teams
    • Employee relations
    • Relevant employment law, personnel policies & process/procedures best practices
  • Strong customer-centered service ethic – belief that partnering across the organization and with stakeholders is key to success in their role
  • Proficient in Inclusion and Diversity and the ability to apply it effectively across the organization
  • Strong communication skills - written, verbal, presentation with the ability to impact & influence stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving skills, judgment, critical thinking and analytical skills
  • HR Systems knowledge & experience, with a preference for ADP WorkforceNow and Oracle HRIS systems
  • Possesses intellectual curiosity and brings valuable insights to the team and business
  • Adaptability and flexibility to take on new, challenging projects and respond to evolving business needs
Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred, but not required)
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, ideally across both Talent Development / Learning & Development and HR Business Partnering roles
  • Prior experience in a pharmaceutical industry or a highly regulated industry is strongly preferred
  • HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-SCP) is a plus
  • Up to 20% travel required for this role
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office and 2 days remotely
