Animal and Avian Medical Center has been serving Brunswick and the nearby communities for over 20 years. We have 4 experienced veterinarians and 8 registered technicians that are dedicated to helping many species of pets and their people.

We are a small animal/exotic full-service hospital, and we see just about anything that could be a pet in your home (dogs, cats, birds, poultry, pot belly pigs, guinea pigs, and all small mammals)! We have been a prominent member of our community for 25 years, boasting a great reputation and significant client retention.

Our surgical caseload consists of routine surgeries, heavy orthopedics, dentals, exotic surgeries, and many soft tissue surgeries that are referred by local DVMs. Some of our equipment includes:

• Digital Radiology
• Mobile Digital Dental Radiology
• 3 Surgical Units
• 2 Dental Tables with High-Speed Drills
• Ultrasound
• Videoscope
• Orthopedic Equipment
• In House Blood & Urine Analysis for Mammals, Birds, and Reptiles

Position Purpose

Come extern with us!Heartland Veterinary Partners' Externship Program works to provide 1st-4th year veterinary students with hands-on experience and mentorship to help have them 'practice ready' by their first day in practice. 

Externships are typically 2 weeks long and Heartland will cover the cost of lodging if needed.

Length of externship is flexible & we can support your preceptorship documentation as well.

Eligibility

Must be currently enrolled in an AVMA Accredited Veterinary School

Must be able to provide student PLIT
