Veterinary Technician

The Animal Cancer Center of Texas (ACCT) is looking for a full-time veterinary technician. We are a specialty veterinary hospital caring for dogs and cats with cancer. We are located in the San Antonio Veterinary Specialists (SAVS) building along with three other specialty companies that are all privately owned and managed. ACCT is a newly opened small business with a very close-knit team and we strive to provide a family atmosphere for our employees. We have two full-time board-certified oncologists with a high caseload.

The schedule will likely be a 4 or 5-day work week, between the hours of 7am to 6pm Monday through Friday.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 years experience as a veterinary technician/technician assistant
• Licensed veterinary technicians welcomed but not required

• Venipuncture
• Familiarity with laboratory analysis and specimen processing
• Ability to obtain patient medical history
• Ability to obtain patient basic vital parameters (weight, TPR)
• Knowledge of medication dosing calculations and administration/dispensing
• Familiarity with electronic medical records
• Familiarity with veterinary terminology and animal care/handling
• Computer and data entry proficiency
• Maintaining a respectful and clean workplace

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 34 – 40 per week
