Veterinary Assistant

Animal Care Center of Polaris is seeking a full-time veterinary assistant! The veterinary assistant is the entire team's primary support. Every department relies on their significant role in aiding with a variety of services to provide excellent client and patient care.

Job Description Overview :

• Restrain animals safely and compassionately for exams and treatments.
• Prepare surgical and exam rooms with necessary equipment and supplies.
• Restock supplies and assist with inventory management.
• Assist veterinarians and technicians during examinations, treatments and procedures.
• Aiding with routine diagnostic tests. (. Taking radiographs, running bloodwork, reading fecal)
• Maintain & sterilize surgical instruments / equipment.
• Maintain clean and organzied exam rooms, treatment areas and kennels.
• Administering medications under Veterinarian / Vet Tech supervision.
• Feed, bathe and excercise animals as needed.
• Handle administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments, answering phones, and updating patient records.
