Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health and diagnose any conditions.
- Administer vaccinations, medications, and treatments as required.
- Perform surgical procedures with precision and adherence to aseptic techniques.
- Provide guidance to pet owners on animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients treated in the hospital.
- Stay updated on advancements in veterinary medicine and participate in continuing education opportunities.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school.
- State licensure to practice veterinary medicine in Illinois.
- Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and critical care practices.
- Excellent animal handling skills with a gentle approach to patient care.
- Ability to communicate effectively with pet owners regarding treatment options and animal welfare.
- Experience in performing surgical procedures is preferred but not mandatory.

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
