Job Summary
Animal Clinic of Rapid City is looking for a full and/or part-time Veterinary Assistant to join our veterinary practice for the summer.
We are an 8 doctor General Practice with a 24/7 Emergency Hospital. We practice high quality, advanced medicine allowing for extensive learning opportunities due to the size of our practice and the varied caseload.
We are seeking a highly motivated team member with a passion for the animal community, who has the ability to provide excellent client and patient care. The ideal candidate will have an outgoing personality along with exceptional communication, telephone and computer skills. Must be a team player, organized, multi-task oriented, detail-oriented, energetic and possess a positive and professional attitude.
Duties Include:
- Provide compassionate care for all pets
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians
- Assist in recovery of surgery patients
- Perform subcutaneous injections when appropriate
- Perform nails trims
- Prepare supplies needed for patient procedures
- Autoclave surgical instrument
- Laundry and dishes
- Answering multi-line phone system
- Scheduling
- Client check in/out - including consent and release forms, post surgery instructions
- Collecting payment and deposits
- Maintaining appearance and cleanliness of the Hospital
- Perform other duties as assigned
About the Position:
- Afternoon, evening and weekend availability required
- May be crossed trained to work in other positions
- On the job training provided
- Drug screening and criminal background check conducted before hire
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
