What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodial Assistant (Part-Time/Weekends) position at Animal Friends?
The Maintenance Department interacts with every department within the organization. As such, each member has the opportunity to champion and reinforce team-focused and supportive work. As a member of the Animal Friends team, it is the responsibility of the Custodial Assistant to embrace, emulate, support and carry out the organization’s vision, mission and workplace culture.
The Custodial Assistant will report to the Facilities & Maintenance Manager, and will handle weekend evening and overnight custodial work.
Essential Functions:
Custodial:
- basic cleaning
- mopping
- sweeping
- dusting
- floor stripping and buffing
- trash removal
- window washing
- cleaning bathrooms
- setting up and tearing down for various activities
- cutting grass
- weed control
- outdoor plant care
- cleaning sidewalks and patios
- snow removal
- High school diploma or GED required
- Custodial experience preferred
- Must have access to dependable transportation, openness to local travel and a valid PA driver's license with a satisfactory driving history in order to operate organization owned vehicles.
- Must possess strength, stamina and mobility to perform required physical work
- Must be comfortable working with or around our dogs, cats and rabbits.
- Must have a sincere interest in the vision, mission and culture of Animal Friends.
