Position Overview
Animal Hospital of Collin County is thrilled to offer externship opportunities for veterinary students in their 1st to 4th year of veterinary school, with durations ranging from 2 to 8 weeks, depending on academic year and curriculum needs. While priority is given to 4th-year students, we encourage all students to apply.

Animal Hospital of Collin County, an AAHA-accredited facility, has been providing exceptional medical, surgical, and dental care, along with boarding services, since 1982. We are committed to education and leverage modern tools and technology to address modern day cases. Our hospital features state-of-the-art technology, including ezyVet practice management software, electronic medical records, a full in-house laboratory, CUBEX storage solutions, therapeutic laser, digital and dental x-ray systems, ultrasound, Hotdog warming systems, ETCO2, and Midmark multiparameter touchscreen monitors, among others. Responsibilities
- Work with a dedicated mentor to guide your experience and help you achieve your goals.
- Conduct full physical exams on hospital patients
- Assist in surgical procedures
- Collaborate directly with veterinarians in exam rooms
- Interpret digital radiographs and ultrasound imagery
- Formulate diagnostic and therapeutic plans and prepare SOAP notes for review by attending veterinarian
- Enhance your client communication and problem-solving skills
