This is an in-person position located at 719 West Bridge Street Monticello, Illinois.
Full-Time: Monday 8-6, Tuesday 8-6, Wednesday 8-6, Thursday OFF, Friday 8-6 and every other Saturday 8-12
Responsibilities
- Support doctors and teammates to ensure quality veterinary care
- Assist veterinarians with exams, procedures, and surgeries
- Perform a variety of technical tasks daily, including: venipuncture, IV catheterization, surgical preparation and monitoring, diagnostic procedures both in-house and referral lab, drug calculations, radiographs, and all other necessary diagnostics
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments via IV, IM, SQ, and oral routes
- Medicate, monitor, and care for hospitalized patients
- Provide client education on pet health and wellness
- Obtain medical histories
- Maintain quality medical records
- Communicate with clients via phone, email, and text
- Answering phones, scheduling appointments, processing payments, and admitting and discharging patients as needed
Requirements
- Veterinary Technician Certification
- Able to lift 50 pounds
- Able to stand and kneel for long periods of time
- Multitasking abilities
- A passion for animals and exceptional customer service skills
- Proficiency in using computers
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
