Our hospital is AAHA accredited and practices high quality veterinary medicine. We offer a wide range of services through our clinic including wellness care, small mammals care, reptile care, avian care, integrative medicine, a range of surgical procedures such as spays, castrations, exploratory and orthopedics surgeries, diagnostic imaging with radiographs and ultrasound, and in-depth dental care with full mouth radiographs and advanced oral surgery.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Veterinary Assistant or Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team and contribute to our mission.

Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant or Licensed Veterinary Technician who thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to make a positive impact on the lives of our patients. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, a compassionate approach, and the ability to work effectively with both our team and our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinarians with examinations, procedures, and surgeries.
  • Perform routine tasks such as taking vital signs, drawing blood, administering medications, and providing wound care.
  • Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and examination rooms.
  • Educate pet owners on preventive care, treatment plans, and post-operative care.
  • Manage patient records and ensure accurate documentation of medical histories and treatments.
  • Handle animal restraint and ensure the safety and comfort of patients.
  • Perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
  • Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to pet owners.

Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), or equivalent, or significant experience as a Veterinary Assistant.
  • Proficiency in animal handling, clinical procedures, and emergency care.
  • Strong knowledge of veterinary technology, medical terminology, and pharmacology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach towards animals and their owners.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks effectively.

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or hospital setting.
  • Familiarity with veterinary software and electronic medical records.
  • Experience in specialty areas such as surgery, dentistry, or internal medicine is a plus.
