We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Veterinary Assistant or Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team and contribute to our mission.
Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant or Licensed Veterinary Technician who thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to make a positive impact on the lives of our patients. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, a compassionate approach, and the ability to work effectively with both our team and our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, procedures, and surgeries.
- Perform routine tasks such as taking vital signs, drawing blood, administering medications, and providing wound care.
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and examination rooms.
- Educate pet owners on preventive care, treatment plans, and post-operative care.
- Manage patient records and ensure accurate documentation of medical histories and treatments.
- Handle animal restraint and ensure the safety and comfort of patients.
- Perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
- Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to pet owners.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), or equivalent, or significant experience as a Veterinary Assistant.
- Proficiency in animal handling, clinical procedures, and emergency care.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary technology, medical terminology, and pharmacology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach towards animals and their owners.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks effectively.
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or hospital setting.
- Familiarity with veterinary software and electronic medical records.
- Experience in specialty areas such as surgery, dentistry, or internal medicine is a plus.
