As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of animals in our care, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and supporting veterinary staff as needed. *Duties* - Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising. - Maintain cleanliness of kennels and surrounding areas to ensure a hygienic environment. - Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff. - Assist with medication administration as directed by veterinarians or technicians. - Support veterinary procedures by handling animals safely and effectively. - Maintain accurate records of animal care and any treatments administered. - Help with dog training sessions as needed, reinforcing positive behaviors. - Participate in laboratory tasks such as sample collection when required. - Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' needs and conditions. *Qualifications* - Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or kennel setting is preferred but not required. - Knowledge of animal care practices, including basic grooming techniques. - Familiarity with veterinary terminology and critical care procedures is a plus. - Ability to handle various breeds of dogs and other animals safely and compassionately. - Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately. - Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members and pet owners. - A willingness to learn about dog training techniques and animal behavior. - Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
