- We are a fully staffed modern veterinary hospital in central Maine.
- Located between the mountains and the shore, central Maine has many opportunities for outdoor recreation. With work hours of 35 to 40 hours per week with no after hours call, you'll have the time to enjoy what Maine has to offer year round.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health and diagnose any medical conditions.
- Develop treatment plans for various ailments, including administering vaccinations, medications, and performing surgeries as needed.
- Provide preventative care services such as wellness exams, dental cleanings, and nutritional counseling.
- Maintain accurate medical records for each patient, documenting treatments, medications, and follow-up care.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure efficient clinic operations.
- Educate pet owners on proper pet care, including grooming techniques and nutrition.
- Stay updated on advancements in veterinary medicine and participate in continuing education opportunities.
- Handle animals safely and compassionately during examinations and treatments.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school.
- Valid veterinary license to practice in the state of Maine.
- Valid DEA license in your name.
- Aphis Accreditation.
- Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and handling techniques.
- Experience with laboratory procedures and diagnostics .
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and educate them about their pets' health needs.
- A compassionate demeanor with a genuine love for animals is essential.
