What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Technician/Assistant position at Animal Hospital?
We are a long standing, high volume veterinary hospital located in Lodi, CA. We are currently looking for a full or part time experienced veterinary technician; licensed or not or assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate would be reliable, motivated, tidy, professional, as well as able and willing to work in all aspects of the hospital.
Daily duties would include but are not limited to:
- Customer service
- Working directly with clients
- Operating a multi-line phone system
- Handling cash and credit card transactions
- Obtaining medical history (TPR)
- Filling prescriptions
- Client education
- Vaccine administration & protocol
- Collecting laboratory samples
- Operating Idexx in-hospital laboratory equipment
- Obtaining radiographs
- IV catheter / fluid placement
- Anesthesia/surgery prep & monitoring
- Dental radiographs, prophylaxis & polishing
Experience with Clientrax software is a plus, candidates must be willing to work evenings; 6:30 pm during the week, and Saturdays; 8-3 pm. Candidates must have a positive attitude, be able to handle any task given to them, work well with a team, and of course.. be compassionate and have a love of animals.
Prefer someone who is looking for long term employment, willing to offer training to newer technicians.
