Animal House Veterinary Hospital is a privately owned small business in Broken Arrow, OK. We are professional, agile, social and our goal is to provide high-quality medicine to pets while communicating effectively to their owners. We have a high-contact practice where we encourage questions and spend more time with owners than the average veterinary practice. We are open Monday-Friday from 8a-5p, and Saturday from 8a-12p. There are no holidays or on-call.

We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a friendly and professional demeanor, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to handle a variety of tasks in a tight-knit environment. All employees are cross-trained and take both assistant and receptionist responsibilities. Our Veterinary Hospital has a well established clientele that take our medical recommendations to heart, are diagnostics-forward and open to referral to specialists. Our appointments are longer than typical and focus more on client and pet interaction rather than purely volume of pets seen.
Responsibilities:
- Handle clients and their pets in a friendly and professional manner.
- Schedule appointments and maintain appointment records.
- Answer phones and respond to inquiries from clients.
- Handle payment transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of medical treatments, vaccinations, and other services provided to animals.
- Assist veterinarian with medical procedures as needed, including discussing recommended vaccines and diagnostics, performing blood draws or taking radiographs.
- Provide basic care for animals in the clinic.
- Opportunity for advancement includes surgical and procedure monitoring.
Qualifications
- Veterinary experience and knowledge of veterinary terminology
- Proficient in animal handling and care, including dog handling and animal physiology
- Experience in customer service and front desk operations
- Familiarity with medication administration and animal restraint techniques
- Background in kennel operations or veterinary technician roles is a plus
- Understanding of animal anatomy and aseptic techniques
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
