WHAT SKILLS DO I NEED?
- Proficiency using the underwater treadmill and therapy laser
- Utilization of therapeutic exercises to improve proprioception, balance, speed, endurance, focal strength, pelvic limb function, forelimb function, neurologic function.
- Proper used of therapeutic exercise equipment such as physioballs, cavaletti rails, balance blocks and discs, weights, tunnels, rocker boards and wobble boards
- Proficient using manual techniques such as massage, ROM exercises, and stretching techniques
- Utilizes physical modalities as tools to alleviate pain, improve strength, aid in tissue healing and more
- Ensure that proper documentation (recordkeeping) is performed in a timely and detailed fashion
- Client communication: communicates clear and concisely, providing home care instructions for client reference
WHAT OTHER THINGS DO I NEED TO KNOW?
- Must be able to collaborate as a team with Animal Medical Center veterinarians and other team members
- Applicant must be a team player who demonstrates a caring and compassionate commitment to their patient, client and the team
- The work schedule is Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
