What are the responsibilities and job description for the Per Diem Veterinarian (Boston Veterinary Care) position at Animal Rescue League of Boston?
Are you mission-driven and interested in working in a private practice veterinary clinic with a mission? The Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL), one of New England’s leading animal welfare organizations, is seeking a Per Diem Veterinarian to join our team at Boston Veterinary Care. Currently, we are looking for a per diem veterinarian to fill shifts on Fridays and/or Saturdays, between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
Who we are:
Pets are family. This belief is at the heart of everything we do at the Animal Rescue League of Boston. We are the first female-founded animal welfare organization in Massachusetts and are proud to carry on a legacy of kindness and compassion, helping more than 20,000 animals annually since 1899. Recognized for our innovative, award-winning programs that go beyond sheltering, we address the root causes of the issues facing animals and the people who love them. By partnering with communities, we help animals heal and thrive, keep pets and people together, and protect animals from harm.
Located in the historic South End neighborhood of Boston, Boston Veterinary Care is truly a clinic with a mission. All clinic profits return to the ARL, to fund the shelter and community programs and to help care for our shelter pet populations. BVC is a fast-paced, full-service small animal hospital that provides routine medical care, as well as dental and surgical services. We take pride in providing quality medical care to our clients and patients, while simultaneously supporting the initiatives of the ARL.
Our clinic is close to several subway lines and bus routes, and we provide free off-street parking for staff and clients.
Use your skills to make a difference by becoming a part of one of the best and oldest animal welfare organizations! Here’s how:
- Be involved in all aspects of veterinary care, including wellness check-ups, sick visits, dentistry, soft tissue, and orthopedic surgery;
- Be encouraged to share your thoughts to improve how we deliver our best care and service;
- Help us improve our services and continue to learn and grow as a team of caring animal welfare professionals in a supportive and fun working environment.
We are excited to welcome an enthusiastic team player with a positive mindset, and a clinician who values exceptional medical standards of care. Our ideal candidate is patient, kind, and approachable across the board, whether they are working with upper management or a member of our shelter's kennel staff. If you are looking for regular shifts at a busy hospital where a tight-knit team practices high-quality medicine, please apply today!
We are looking to fill shifts Fridays and Saturdays from 9:00AM to 5:00PM.
