The purpose of the role of an Events Associate here at the ARL of Iowa is to advance the mission and programs of the Animal Rescue League of Iowa (ARL) by organizing and executing successful fundraising events, coordinating vendors, developing community partnerships, and implementing innovative event strategies
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for coordinating vendors for applicable events and developing partnerships within the community.
Responsible for researching and implementing creative strategies for events and event promotions.
Responsible for developing event emails, public-facing event content, and other marketing content as needed.
Effectively communicate amongst other departments as needed to execute fundraising events.
Prioritize working cooperatively with all volunteers, recognizing the talent and commitment they bring to the organization.
Work with others on the Development team to meet goals by providing input and creativity, and commitment to fundraising.
Responsible for meeting event financial and strategic goals.
Facilitate other fundraising objectives such as birthdays, facility rentals, and others as needed.

Responsible for assisting with signature events as needed, including :
Raise Your Paw Auction
Pedal for Paws
Cat’s Meow
Iowa Dog Jog
Santa N Paws
Mane Event Valentine’s Apples
Others as developed
Perform other duties, as assigned.
Education and / or Experience
High School Diploma or GED, required.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in related major, preferred.
Minimum 2 years event planning or relevant experience, preferred
Qualifications
Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record, required.
Accurate and fast typing, required.
Must be able to function in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
Must possess excellent customer service, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills and be able to resolve conflict effectively.
Ability to performance basic mathematical skills.
Proficient in accurate spelling and grammar.
Experience in budgeting, preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
Knowledge of Blackbaud software, preferred.
