Title: Benefits & Payroll Specialist - Full Time

Reports to: Director of Human Resources
Responsibilities:
- Administer ARL leave programs, including Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), long-term disability, workers’ compensation leaves, and personal leaves of absence.
- Provide guidance to employees and supervisors on leave options and company policies.
- Review and process leave requests, track usage, and communicate with employees and supervisors regarding leave statuses.
- Maintain accurate records of leave balances and ensure proper pay adjustments take place as part of payroll.
- Review timecards to ensure accuracy, resolving discrepancies, as needed.
- Manage the end-to-end payroll process, including processing bi-weekly payroll, reconciliation, and ensuring payroll deadlines are met.
- Administer the workers’ compensation program, including claims reporting, case management, and tracking of employee status while acting as a liaison between employees, third-party administrators, and supervisors, when appropriate.
- Assist in return-to-work programs and accommodations process.
- Oversee the administration of employee benefit programs and serve as the main point of contact for employees regarding benefits.
- Conduct benefit orientations in collaboration with the Talent Acquisition Specialist and provide ongoing education to employees on their benefit options.
- Reconcile benefit premiums with bi-weekly payrolls.
- Manage open enrollment periods, including communication, education, and assisting with the enrollment process.
- Lead the Safety Committee and administer the injury reporting process.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations such as ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, and other federal and state laws.
- Assist with various Human Resources projects, as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a similar field or equivalent work experience
- 3 years of professional work experience in Human Resources, highly preferred
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, preferred
Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficient with ADP’s Recruitment Applicant Tracking System or ability to learn quickly.
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite or related software.
- Familiar with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to employment law.
