The Animal Rescue League of Iowa (ARL) is seeking a full-time Second Chance Ranch Technician to join the Second Chance Ranch team at our ARL Main location! This position plays a vital role in providing excellent animal care, facility cleaning, customer service, and precise recordkeeping at the Second Chance Ranch.
The ARL's Kruidenier Second Chance Ranch is a safe haven for horses rescued from abuse, neglect and abandonment, and it is also a temporary home for other barn animals waiting for new, loving families.

Key Responsibilities include providing overall animal care including feeding, cleaning, and rescues for the Second Chance Ranch animals, driving tractor, truck, and operating heavy machinery, supporting veterinarians on-site for exams, treatments, procedures, and vaccinations, provides training for volunteers, responsible for entering all information regarding animals in the barn as well as accuracy of information entered in the animal database, assists with adoption, foster, and transfer and animal transport, and assists with behavioral rehabilitation, training, and enrichment of all barn animals in the program.
We are seeking qualified candidates who have a High School diploma or GED, 1 year of animal care experience is required. equine and livestock experience is highly preferred. 2 years of experience in customer service is preferred. A qualified candidate will also be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, have strong communication skills and openness to new ideas, is a self-motivated team player and someone with a commitment to fostering a positive, supportive culture at the ARL.
